'Healthcare in the North will also stumble if we don't stack innovations'

"Directors pay attention," says Jarno, director of care at LTT. "It's not 5 past 12, it's 12:30. Care in the North of the Netherlands is in danger of stumbling if innovations are not implemented quickly. Senior care raised the alarm last week during the national day of action; at the same time that two major accounting firms indicated that "thunderstorms are moving over the care sector" and bankruptcies in senior care cannot be ruled out. The causes include staff shortages, high absenteeism, wage increases, inflation and rising energy costs."

LTT is looking for healthcare executives with guts and vision who recognize that a combined approach to healthcare, safety and energy transition can deliver more than the sum of its parts. "And no, technology does not take away the human touch. It actually enhances the provision of person-centered care (tailored)."

Using technology precisely to preserve the human touch

Let Things Talk offers innovative technological solutions for healthcare institutions, such as the Rhythm sensor, which maps the day and night rhythm of residents. If someone's rhythm changes, the system alerts them that their care needs have changed or that the care moments may need to be adjusted. Care facilities can thus better anticipate a person's changing demands and use staff more efficiently. The Rhythm sensor also has advanced wandering and fall detection features. If a person falls and gets out of bed, or if the person does not return to bed after a toilet visit, the sensor sends an alarm to the caregiver.

"Our sensor is extremely reliable and does not use 'smart' cameras or infrared motion sensors. False alarms, because a comforter flutters past in front of a motion sensor, and being able to peek into someone's living space are thus a thing of the past."

A practical multi-transition approach with a short payback period
"If the Rhythm sensor is combined with the Airhub sensor, you can also adjust lighting, smart plugs and heating to the rhythm of life. In addition to a safer and healthier living environment for residents and work environment for caregivers, we also realize an average energy savings of 26% this way. Not bad, right? The savings factor can become even greater if, for example, smart incontinence materials and medication dispensers are integrated."
"I call on directors of Northern healthcare institutions to innovate with us. Our goal is to use our practical multi-transition approach to prepare the North for the future. Will you join us?" Contact Jarno at 06-21898262 or jarno@letthingstalk.nl.
