In the Netherlands, independent living at home in old age is increasingly becoming the norm. The increasing aging population and decreasing number of young people make it necessary to look at care and support in a different way.
To help the elderly aged 70 and older continue to live vitally at home, it is important to support their independence and quality of life. Within the framework of the Regio Deal, this is being implemented together with the target group, including through innovative applications of sensor technology.
The aim of this initiative is not to focus on the demand for care, but rather to strengthen people's daily lives. By cleverly integrating technology into the residential environment, a livable neighborhood is created in which residents - with or without care needs - can continue to live healthily, independently and connected.
